ScoutQuest Overview
Welcome to the ScoutQuest Camporee Website.
Here you will find the information to help your Troop participate and succeed in what we hope will be a very exciting event.
It is our hope that each Troop in the Yellow River District will participate. The event promises much for Scouts and Adults alike.
Overview: ScoutQuest is a large scale Scout Skills Course. Scouts will negotiate the course in patrols of 6 to 8 plus an adult adviser/chaperone. 1st and 2nd year scouts will work through a 3.5 mile land course using map and compass along with all of their scout essentials. 3rd year and higher scout patrols that are swimmers will negotiate another 3.5 to 4 miles via canoe. Each patrol will be provided a score sheet to record their observations, times and scores along the way.
Camping for the event will be backcountry style. Each scout and adult should come prepared to pack into their campsite and cooking should be appropriate for a backcountry environment. Please do not bring Troop Trailers.
When: ScoutQuest will be held on the weekend of April 20th - 22nd 2012. The actual event will start early Saturday morning and complete that evening with a cookout and campfire program.
Where: ScoutQuest will be held at Mistletoe State Park.
Cost: Cost is $20 per Scout or Adult Registrant. Each vehicle entering the park will be responsible for their own Georgia State Park pass for the event.
Includes: Saturday Lunch and Dinner will be provided as well as your camporee patch. Each vehicle entering the park will be responsible for their own Georgia State Park pass for the event.
